The Winners

Winner: Firefly by Jipster
Top honors in 2001 was taken by a story of two girls living in Aryth who, over the course of several years, build a relationship that is put under the ultimate test.

Runner Up: Wave of the Future by Celiose
In 2001's runner up, Celiose mixes Isaac Asimov with the Kupopolis world and builds a tale of robots and humanity that walks between heartwarming and chilling.

Second Runner Up: Iso Belle by Silenty Jerry
The Jerrish One is at his prime here as he unfolds an important part in the life of one of his previously more ambigious characters, Isobel of Fenwyr.

Other Entries (In No Particular Order)

Flowers by DL
DL enters the fray with a subtle and charming piece that pays tribute to one of the most recognized Kupopolis posts of 2000.

Mother's Children by Spoon
Spoon's Iron Writer entry was a well executed story focusing on unusual characters in unusual situations, this time a pair of distrusting Celpo agents stranded in the world of Aryth.

Techromancy by Kate
Der Kate's IW offering is a Twilight Zone like tale with strong characters and a delictable twist ending.

What it Feels Like to Fly by M3May
M3May, still a newcomer to the Kupop scene, unleashes this well written piece of work which comes complete with a twist ending so severe and so dramatic that it puts all other twist endings to shame!

Shadow of a Name by Venus
Chilling and Twisted were both popular adjectives when describing many of this year's entries, and Venus's submission is no exception. Dark from start to finish, the ending to this sci-fi post is almost guaranteed to give you goosebumps.

A Thief in the Night by XStryker
XStryker returns, and he's using one of his most infamous additions to the Kupopolis universe -- the morally bankrupt Ticondera -- to launch his Iron Writer entry, a straightforward and (as Spoon describes it) Kick Ass post that incorporates X's patient and careful writing style.

Don't Scare Him, Moggie by Michael
Part parody, part genuine bone-chilling, this post (which actually takes place in our real world) is loosely based on the anime movie "Perfect Blue". A popular actress is giving up her on-stage portrayal of a Kupopolis character to move on to bigger and better things. But that particular Kupopolis character would prefer things otherwise...

Iron Writer Entries that Didn't Make the Deadline

Not Every Dream by D4Pres
D4's entry unfortunately didn't make the Iron Writer deadline, and it's a pity, because it reads like a contender. Another chilling story with a focus on lovers that has an interesting narrative style.

Seeds of Rajaat
One of the most infamous, purely evil villains in Kupopolis history gets a second look in Mace's large, well written story that was meant for an Iron Writer entry.
